Cloud Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based systems: creating scalable and efficient cloud infrastructure by designing, building, and maintaining systems that leverage cloud services
- Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and issues: proactively monitoring and troubleshooting the cloud infrastructure (vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, deployment challenges, …)
- Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements: staying up-to-date with cloud technologies and assess existing systems for optimization opportunities (proposing enhancements, security improvements, cost-saving measures, …)
- Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs: collaborating with stakeholders, understanding business requirements, and offering technical guidance
- Communication with the customer(s) on a daily basis, given the project-focused nature of the role
Requirements:
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar
- Experience with Public Cloud providers (preferrably Microsoft Azure or AWS)
- Proficiency in Linux is preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or AWS CloudFormation or Azure Bicep/ARM
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- "Business fluent" English language knowledge
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of DevOps principals, experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar
- Experience in the IT industry, specifically in public cloud solutions and technologies
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with container orchestration solutions like Kubernetes (along with some certificates in the area)
- German language knowledge
